Bandwidth
What do you mean by "unmetered" ?
By "unmetered" we mean that we do not charge our clients per
megabyte fees if they go over X amount of data transfer in
a given period of time. We do expect "reasonable" transfers
in proportion to the level of service our client is maintaining.
Does "unmetered" mean "unlimited" ?
No. In our opinion even companies that offer "unlimited" do
not really mean "unlimited". Such companies usually include
in their contract or policies, stipulations that restrict your
freedom in transfering zip files, having picture galleries
or using more the X amount of the servers resources. In
reality, they are not "unlimited" at all. Net Megs is NOT
an "unlimited" service.
What does "metered" mean ?
Metered hosting usually means that you are allowed
to transfer X amount in a given period after which
time you are charged for additional transfers.
Just how much bandwidth is reasonable for your "unmetered" accounts ?
The following average daily transfers would be reasonable for our accounts.
Please note that we DO NOT charge clients if they use more than this!
Partly Virtual: 100 megabytes
Fully Virtual Basic: 150 megabytes
Fully Virtual Standard: 250 megabytes
Fully Virtual Plus: 400 megabytes
What happens if I use more bandwidth in a day ?
Nothing. We are more concerned with your over all usage than
peaks in usage you may have here and there. We understand that
an ad campaign or other publicity can generate bursts of traffic
far above normal.
What happens if I consistently need more bandwidth ?
You would upgrade your account to one that suits the level
of service you require.
Is there any activity that would cause you to limit my site ?
Yes, any activity that hinders the normal operation of the server or any
activity that we consider to be far in excess of normal operation of
a site. For instance, mirroring a popular file so everyone links and downloads
it, causing hundreds or thousands of megabytes to be transfered in a short
period of time, would be
excessive. Clients must be realistic and understand that they are sharing
a server and resources of a network, they must respect the sites of others.
